In my first two weeks of IS101, I've really enjoyed the course, especially since it's my first time taking it. I appreciate Professor Wu’s attention to detail, his explanations are clear and thorough, which helps me understand the material more deeply. The assignments are well-designed and go beyond surface-level learning, making the content more engaging. LabSim has been a great tool as well; though it is easy, it is very practical, hands-on experience that reinforces content I already understood. But LabSim has information that has transferred to a business setting in my family. With my dad's business being online, customers get in contact with us about our items all the time. As my dad chicken pecks the keyboard, most of his responses will have small mistakes. Que ChatGPT, the AI that my dad now uses to ensure that his messages to customers are professional and without mistakes. To an extent, I have don't the same as I message customers every now and again and ChatGPT is a useful tool to be able to make sure my wording will not anger someone on the other end of the screen. I've know about other forms of AI but LabSim revealed them to me, though I haven't used any of them other than the Generative AI.
I have been exposed to A.I a lot recently and I'm guessing it is the new form of technology that is quite useful. But on the other hand it's a little scary that humans are putting so much reliance on technology without thinking ahead.

DeleteHi Ashton! LabSim is really a great tool especially for those people that are visual learners like me. I liked how I got to practice the material that I learned through "skills lab" on LabSim.

Your comment about AI is kind of worrying, considering I'm not overly fond of the idea of AI being used so frequently. Although the reasoning makes sense, I just wish we as a human race didn't rely on Artificial Intelligence so much.

Hi Ashton, I totally agree with you that LabSim has been a great tool and the assignments are very practical. I myself enjoy a hands on experience. Practicing with LabSim really helped me fully understand the material we are learning.

ReplyDeleteHey Ashton, I agree that the lab Sims are super helpful and I also agree with the use of AI for grammar and spelling checks. I personally prefer to use Grammarly because it can notice mistakes anywhere I type!
